Rest in peace our beautiful girl. An exceptional mare and treasured member of our family. Your passing leaves us heartbroken.
Yanah was by Ibn Estopa and out of the Classical Spanish mare Yemanah. She was bred by Om El Arab in Germany and was exported to Australia as a foal before making her way across the Tasman just prior to her 12th birthday. Yanah was a multi Champion in both Australia and New Zealand. She was twice a NZ National Title Champion and earned her Roll of Merit in only six shows.
Yanah had eleven foals in total, four for Euralea. The first, Euralea Espania Bint Yanah *IIU/AU (By Priority) is the highest Spanish bred Arabian in NZ with almost 90% Spanish blood. Espania is a NZ Futurity winner and a National Top 5 Mare. Her first foal, Euralea Spanish Light (By Euralea Light My Fire) has been a highly consistent show competitor collecting Supremes and Championships in her junior years. In 2005 Spanish Light was awarded the title of National Reserve Champion Mare. Espania is also the dam of Euralea Encore the 2006 National Champion Colt and 2007 National Champion Junior Gelding. Yanah’s second foal Euralea Fire N Desire (By Wind N Fire) was shown for a Supreme Championship. Her son JA Kourage Under Fire is a multi Champion. He was unbeaten during the 2006 season and has won National Titles as both a junior and a senior. Euralea Light My Fire is Yanah’s third foal and a full brother to Fire N Desire. He is a triple National Champion and multi Supreme winner. His progeny have won multiple Championships and Supremes including seven National Championships. Euralea Epic (By RL Firewalker) is foal number four. He was awarded the title of 2004 National Champion Junior Gelding before he was exported to Dubai.
Her impact on New Zealand Arabian breeding is clearly demonstrated from the 2009 South Island Championship Show. Her son Euralea Light My Fire was Champion Stallion, her grand daughters Euralea Spanish Light and Euralea Eva were the Champion Mare and Champion Filly and her grand son Euralea Enfinity was Champion Colt and Supreme Champion. Her progeny and grand progeny have amassed 26 NZ National Titles. In 2009 Euralea was the recipient of the NZAHBS Breeders Award. This award was earned solely by Yanah descendants.
Yanah passed away as she lived, with grace, dignity and the knowledge that there will never be another like her. She was a true Arabian ambassador, recognised for her quality, type and temperament. Her passing brought forth condolences from throughout the country and around the world. She is and will always remain the matriarch of Euralea Arabians. She was that one in a million and will live on through her descendants and in our hearts forever.
